Winter Warmies!

Embrace the chill of winter with our irresistable hot chocolate bomb and mulled wine cube recipes, the perfect companions for snuggling up this Winter.

Mulled Wine Ice Cubes

Ingredients:

3 tbsp. brown sugar,

  • ½ cinnamon stick,
  • About 5-6 whole cloves,
  • vanilla bean, or 1/2 tsp. vanilla essence,
  • 1 lemon, quartered and thinly sliced,
  • 1 orange quartered and thinly sliced,
  • 1 cup of water

Step 1: Place all ingredients into a small saucepan on low, and stir continuously until sugar is dissolved.

Step 2: Allow to simmer for 10 minutes without stirring. Then allow to cool in a saucepan for an hour.

Step 3: For chunky ice, evenly distribute liquid amongst ice cubes (we recommend the Bold Megacubes), otherwise strain the mix through a mesh strainer before distributing it to the ice cube tray.

Step 4: Freeze until solid and enjoy with your favorite mulled wine!

Hot Chocolate Bomb

Ingredients:

50g of cooking chocolate (dark or milk)

2 teaspoons hot chocolate mix

Mix-ins of choice: mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, sprinkles, etc.

Step 1: Begin by gently melting your chocolate in the microwave, heating it in 20-second intervals and stirring in between.

Step 2: Carefully coat your chosen DrinksPlinks ice tray mold with the melted chocolate using a pastry brush or by pouring it in, ensuring every nook and cranny is covered. Then, allow it to set in the freezer for about 30 minutes until firm.

Step 3: Once the chocolate shell is solid, fill one-half of the mold with a teaspoon of your preferred hot chocolate mix. Get creative by adding mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, or sprinkles.

Step 4: Warm a plate in the microwave for 30 seconds. Place the empty chocolate molds onto the warm plate for 10 seconds or until they begin to soften slightly. Gently attach these softened halves to the filled halves, sealing them together. Repeat until all your bombs are assembled.

Step 5: Finally, heat your favorite milk and watch as it melts away the chocolate shell, revealing a delightful explosion of flavor. Indulge in the comforting warmth of your homemade hot chocolate bomb!
